In this article, its just an update that the Seiko Prospex GMT Kinetic Tuna Air Diver 200m aka SUN019 can be brought up to FULL charge with the Braun Toothbrush induction charger. (also there is a thread on WUS delicated to alternative charger http://forums.watchuseek.com/f21/induction-chargers-work-seiko-kinetic-482363.html )
You can also buy the expensive Seiko Kinetic Charger to perform the same task…… but at a much much higher cost ! ($200-250) but it cannot beat the Braun Toothbrush induction charger on cost ratio !
Method
The thing about charging the Kinetic watches with Braun toothbrush charger is the placing position.
I have success in these 2 position : (different watches)
1) Case back on the bottom of charger
2) side ways beside the “little stick”
Some Kinetic will takes a couple of days to receive charge. So be patience.

How long does it take the seiko sun019 to charge with a baun thooth brush charger

In the last two photos that you’ve shown ( braun charger head that have been chop off) What’s the correct position of the Kinetic watch model SUN 019 did you do that properly charged the watch?
The photos are not mine.
Position still is very much depending on the type of knietic movement the watch has.
Generally , be patience and try various position, once you get it up to charge. Take a snap or note.
I have the same seiko kinetic gmt prospex SUN019 and braun tooth brush charger i how ever have not been able to figure the right position for it to charge , have tried in different positions for over three hours each i used a sponge holed and balanced the watch on the charge point that protrudes, the watch touches this exactly at the case back in the centre where the seiko tsunami is located.
Could any one help me on this , share pics etc thanks

Think Dakota has increased their price for their charger, as it was a sell out earlier. Not sure if they are still selling them.
I had tried the wireless phone charger before but it wasnt successful unfortunately.
Just got a new LG Watch Sport smart watch. It came with a great little wireless charging stand. I have been trying all the different positions with my Prospex but so far no luck. Either it’s not working or charging very,very,very slowly. Hi Dan, I have not tried the LG charger yet.
had tried to Samsung and Qi wireless charger. These didnt work too.
So far it seems only the Braun Toothbrush charger and the Philips LED charger works nicely.
How about the Apple Watch charger? Anyone tried it?
I have not try one before.

You will need to try various position till it get some charge. Once you found the ideal position, have it charge for a couple of days till it gets full power.
I will takes a few try.
I have a Fossil Q Marshal watch with an induction charger. Will it work for a Seiko SKA371p1 diver?

As far as I can see, it does not work.
Unlike the original Seiko Kinetic Charger. Most aftermarket or alternative charger takes a long time to charge and also needs a lot of patience to find the right “spot” before it gets charge. Do have it trial in various time frame and position.
Hope there can be more alternative kinetic charger discovery !
I have a braun charger and wanted to charge my Seiko BFK. Tried various positions but no luck even after a few days each position.
So I tried that position suggested by sewingman (bob) with the braun charger upside down and the watch face down on it – as shown in the photos above with the red table – finally it charged! After one day, it went from the 20s to the 30s mark. Now it stays in the 30s mark even after days of unuse.
Good to hear that the Braun charger had worked for you !
It does takes abit of trial and error to get the correct position !
