Converting excess belt off-cut into usable watch strap !

A friend of mine (skinny guy !) bought a COACH belt and ask me to help him cut and punch some extra holes onto the belt. Trim off the excess length and punch extra 2 holes. All is well. With these excess, its a real waste to dump them. So the idea of converting them into 24mm PAM style watch strap.

Here are the off-cut :

There is 3 lays found in the belt (top PVC, middle some kind of felt and bottom leather).

I cut off the side with an exacto knife (art and craft knife). Glued them with shoe glue and let it dry for 10 minutes before pressing them together.

Next i stitch them in thick black twine (coated with wax).
Punched 5 holes, cut the ends for the buckle latch.

For the keeper. I am using the bottom leather layer only (stripping off the PVC and middle felt).
