Part 1 for converting some excess belt off-cut into usable watch strap has pretty good response.
Here is a Part 2 of another similar project.
Another friend of mine whom has read the article has donated another set of “COACH” belt off-cut. I have a Marina Militare Submersible whom is in-need of a new strap, i have to make one over the weekend. The strap width of the Marina Militare Submersible is a unique of 27mm ! and definitely will benefit from these donated belt materials !
Here are the belt materials :
Trimmed them to size (125mm / 90mm) with the usual exacto knife (art and craft knife). 27mm lug width, down to 24mm at the buckle.
The rest of the process is similar as those described in Part 1.
Punched the needed holes for the waxed thread.
I’ll try some of the newly purchased purple waxed thread.
Finished sewing the thread on both.
Punched 4 holes on the strap and some showing-OFF !!
Made the strap keeper from some RED coloured saddle leather left over ; more contrasting colour !
Some wrist shot.
Hope you guys like it.
