New addition : 44mm Maranez Bangla Brass

Edit : 24.9.14 (added patina photo)

Maranez has launched another Bangla in Brass this week, this time its in 44mm (earlier Bangla is 47mm). I have purchased the 47mm Bangla Titanium in July 2014 and was impressed with it. I had decided i want a Bangla Brass in Green Cali dial.

I have requested Miss Sara of Maranez for an additional bezel, unfortunately it did not come with the package. Sigh…..

I will not go in depth with the watch review again ; it had been done earlier in the Ti model (below link).

You can read them in my earlier review on the 47mm Maranez Bangla Titanium watch.

Here is the 47mm vs 44mm Bangla photos. You can see the size difference in the photos ;  but it is not very obvious if you do not have both to compare.

Obvious difference :
– dial size is smaller
– bezel size is smaller
– case back is smaller
– crown guard size is smaller

Same :
– crown size remains the same
– 24mm lug remains the same

Added my own strap tubes to the leather strap.

(These strap tubes are not Maranez. Y0u can buy from me at $10 a pair here : https://seikoparts.wordpress.com/2014/08/24/for-sale-leather-rubber-silicon-strap-tubes/)

There is a different in the 44mm Bangla’s accessory. The lug screw removal tools ! See below photo……

The 44mm Bangla comes with a typical jeweler screw driver (not ideal). The 47mm Bangla comes with a proper lug screw removal tools. In my opinion, the earlier version is better. It fit the screw securely and properly. With a screw driver, there is chance of slipping and “rounding” the screw [see below photo].

Conclusion

In my opinion, the 44mm Bangla has a better ratio of the mass market ; which some consumer may find the earlier 47mm too large for their wrist. Being smaller, its also slight lighter too (comparing brass to brass).  Anyway, thats the end of the write out. Hope you enjoy it. I’ll post more photo here when the brass case becomes more tarnish (patina).

Thanks for reading.
